This is the best site I have found in answer to my query 'What time are the monastic hours?' Could you let me know what time you usually have Compline? Many thanks. Virginia Hill

Dear Sr. Eleanor,

Have the Sisters ever thought about making a foundation here in Australia? We have the OSCO men but not the women. There are a group of Benedictine women in NSW but I sense after visiting them, that the Cistercian spirituality is somehow different.

Blessings and peace,
Meegs

Just wondering....how Sr Josephine is getting om in Abaliki, how the movices/ postulants are getting on at St Mary's, and does Cistercian Order attract an equal number from rural and urban areas since quite a bit of the hands-on work seems to be agricultural or live-stock related? And...what about Lent in your monastery?

Just doing a simple search for twiturgy lead me to this post. Twiturgy was my idea and I developed it with a few co-workers at Asbury Seminary, I am really glad that people are finding it useful.

Thank you for your insights. I would like to gather together a few widows who feel called to the Contemplative Life but would like to meet to pray the Office and possibly share a meal now and then to be a source of inspiration for one another. I live in the St.Louis area and could reach out to a 50 mile radius. Anyone out there who feels called to a life of prayer, silence and solitude and a few hours of Ministry to the Poor (maybe 2 hours daily) please contact me.

Blessings,
Mary

Sr Eleanor,
Thank you for posting this article. I am a 30yr old male and live in NH, USA and have this "feeling" that I'm called to the Franciscan Order, Primitive Order, but am torn because I never saw my life heading that way. I've always felt that God has been leading me in life, through my younger years, college, and post college time...but I've (for as long as I can remember) wanted marriage and to find that someone "special" in the opposite sex. I have found her,...but the thought of giving material and monetary items and ministering to the poor is always peeking around the corner of my mind.

I have thought of a "countercultural life" as being very freeing indeed, and am very happy that the candidate felt that way.

Please excuse my rambling, but accept my thanks for posting this article. It is helpful in my "search for answers".

matt

PS, I tried, but am unable to come up with any phrases to positively convey "a habitat of spiritual freedom and growth" for your constitution.

Thanks for the tip. I've found little use for Twitter, but have kept it updated along with FaceBook through ping.fm. I've just gone to Twitter and am now following Twiturgy. I look forward to seeing it. I'll let you know what I think. Sister Pat
